People
Person metas and person search catalogs, which give Jellyfin clients a person's page, their filmography and people search.
A person in a meta's people can carry an id:
{ "name": "Bryan Cranston", "role": "actor", "character": "Walter White", "id": "tmdb:17419" }AIOStreams opens it as a meta of type person, from whichever addon serves that id, and Jellyfin
clients show it as the person's page: their biography, photo and filmography.
Without an addon serving the person, the page comes from TMDB when a TMDB key is set up. A
tmdb: id is worth giving even if you serve no person metas: the TMDB page is then that person's,
not whoever is best known by the same name.
Declaring them
Add person to the types your meta resource serves, with the prefixes of the ids you give
people:
"resources": [
"catalog",
{ "name": "meta", "types": ["movie", "series", "person"], "idPrefixes": ["tt", "tmdb:"] }
]GET {addonBase}/meta/person/tmdb:17419.json{
"meta": {
"id": "tmdb:17419",
"type": "person",
"name": "Bryan Cranston",
"description": "Bryan Lee Cranston is an American actor…",
"poster": "https://…/portrait.jpg",
"birthday": "1956-03-07",
"birthPlace": "Hollywood, California, USA",
"ids": { "tmdb": "17419", "imdb": "nm0186505" },
"credits": [
{ "id": "tt0903747", "type": "series", "name": "Breaking Bad", "poster": "https://…", "released": "2008-01-20" },
{ "id": "tt3203606", "type": "movie", "name": "Trumbo", "poster": "https://…", "released": "2015-11-06" }
]
}
}| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
name | Required. |
description | The biography. |
poster | A portrait. |
birthday | A date, YYYY-MM-DD. |
deathday | As above. |
birthPlace | A string. |
ids | Provider ids. |
credits | The person's filmography. |
Credits
Catalog entries as a catalog would return them, every one in a single list. id and type are
required, and a credit is the same title it is anywhere else.
Clients list a person's movies and shows apart, by type, and sort them by released, falling
back to the year in releaseInfo. Any other order they ask for keeps yours, so put the best known
first. A title is listed once, however many roles the person had in it.
Leave out what isn't the person's work: talk shows they visited, thanks and archive footage.
Search
A person catalog with a required search extra answers a Jellyfin client's people search:
{ "type": "person", "id": "people", "name": "People", "extra": [{ "name": "search", "isRequired": true }] }GET {addonBase}/catalog/person/people/search=bryan%20cranston.json{ "metas": [{ "id": "tmdb:17419", "type": "person", "name": "Bryan Cranston", "poster": "https://…/portrait.jpg" }] }Each entry opens like a cast entry with that id. Every person catalog is asked and their results
are interleaved. Without one, results come from TMDB when a TMDB key is set up. A search for titles
never asks them.
Stremio lists a person catalog among its search results too, and opens a person to a page with
no streams.
