Similar Titles
The similar catalog extra, which lists titles like a given one for a Jellyfin client's More Like This.
A catalog that declares the similar extra lists titles like the one it is given. Jellyfin clients
show them as More Like This. Any addon can serve one, whoever serves the title itself.
Without one, AIOStreams uses TMDB's recommendations when a TMDB key is set up, else the top of the title's first genre.
Declaring it
"catalogs": [
{
"type": "movie",
"id": "similar",
"name": "More Like This",
"extra": [{ "name": "similar", "isRequired": true }],
"idPrefixes": ["tt", "tmdb:"]
}
]| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
type | The type of the titles it is asked about. Declare one catalog per type. |
extra | similar, required. A required extra with no options keeps the catalog out of Stremio's board and Discover, and out of Jellyfin libraries. |
idPrefixes | The ids you understand. Omit it to be sent the title's id as AIOStreams serves it. |
Requests
GET {addonBase}/catalog/movie/similar/similar=tt0903747.json{ "metas": [{ "id": "tt1475582", "type": "series", "name": "Sherlock", "poster": "https://…" }] }Answer with catalog entries, best first; the first page is all that is read. Use ids this configuration can open, as for collection items.
With idPrefixes, the id sent is the first of the title's known ids that matches one, in your
order: its own, its meta's ids, and AIOStreams' id
mappings. A title with none that match is not sent to you.
The catalogs asked are those of the title's type that require no other extra, in the configuration's addon order, until one answers with titles. An empty list passes the title on to the next, and then to the fallback.
Stremio
Stremio never asks for a similar catalog by itself, but it opens one from a link. A meta link
like this shows the same list in Stremio:
{
"name": "More Like This",
"category": "Similar",
"url": "stremio:///discover/https%3A%2F%2Fexample.com%2Fmanifest.json/movie/similar?similar=tt0903747"
}
